about us

Recovery Community Center Virgnia

Recovery Connections SWVA is a community-driven organization supporting individuals and families throughout Southwest Virginia who have been impacted by addiction. We are here to bridge the gap between treatment and lasting recovery, because getting sober is just the start of a lifelong journey, and no one should have to walk it alone.

No matter where you are in your journey, whether you’re newly sober, years into recovery, or a loved one seeking answers, Recovery Connections SWVA welcomes you. Our community is built on real connection and support.

Judgment-Free Space

More Than a Center. A Lifeline.

Located in downtown, Recovery Connections SWVA is a welcoming, judgment-free space for people at every stage of the recovery journey. We believe recovery thrives in community, when you have support, resources, and real connections, your life’s path can open to new hope and possibilities. We’re here for treatment alumni, local residents, and anyone in Southwest Virginia who needs a helping hand as they rebuild after addiction. Whatever your story, you’ll find encouragement and understanding here.

Recovery Meetings

We host a full weekly schedule of peer-led support groups in our downtown space, including Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Al-Anon, and Celebrate Recovery. There’s always a meeting, and you’ll always be welcomed just as you are.

Employment Connection

Finding and keeping a job can be one of the toughest parts of early recovery. Our employment support services help you build résumés, practice interviews, connect with local employers, and navigate the workforce with renewed hope and confidence.

GED Tutoring

Education opens doors to new opportunities. We offer free GED tutoring to help you earn your high school equivalency credential and take the next step toward the future you deserve.

Financial Literacy

Managing money is a skill, one that many people in recovery are developing for the first time. Our classes cover budgeting, banking, credit, and other practical tools to help you work toward financial independence with confidence.

Treatment Resources

Not sure where to turn? Our staff is here to help you and your loved ones understand available treatment options, connect to the right level of care, and guide you through choices when every minute counts. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Family Resources

Addiction never impacts just one person, it touches everyone who cares for them. We can help you understand your loved one’s options, navigate local treatment resources, find Al-Anon meetings, and connect you with the support you need to care for yourself while caring for someone else.

Personal & Professional Skill-Building

Recovery from addiction isn’t just about abstaining from substance use; it’s about rebuilding a fulfilling life. This journey involves finding meaningful work, completing education, and learning to manage their finances with confidence.

Referrals to Medical and Healthcare Services

Recovery Connections SWVA offers referrals to individuals needing medical and other healthcare services. For many in Southwest Virginia, this journey involves finding the right resources and connections needed to recover and thrive.
