Resources for Families
Addiction doesn’t happen in isolation — it radiates outward, touching spouses, parents, children, siblings, and friends in ways that can be just as painful and disorienting as the addiction itself. If someone you love is struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, you deserve support too.
Recovery Connections SWVA hosts Al-Anon meetings and offers a range of family resources for residents of Southwest Virginia who are navigating the impact of a loved one’s addiction. Because healing is something families do together — and you don’t have to figure any of this out alone.
Learn More About Our Program
Al-Anon Family Groups is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking or drug use. Al-Anon is peer-led and open to anyone — regardless of whether the person with addiction is currently in treatment, still using, or in recovery.
Al-Anon meetings provide a space to share your experience honestly, hear from others who understand, and learn healthier ways to respond to the effects of addiction in your family. The program is grounded in the same 12-step principles as Alcoholics Anonymous, adapted for family members and loved ones.
