Peer Support + Comunity
If you are in recovery in Southwest Virginia, you already understand the importance of community. One of the most effective and widely recognized forms of peer support is the 12-step model – a proven framework for healing, accountability, and human connection that has helped millions of individuals achieve long-term sobriety.
Recovery Connections SWVA is proud to offer a comprehensive weekly schedule of 12-step meetings in the heart of downtown. Whether you are newly sober, have been in recovery for years, or are contemplating a change, our meetings are open to you. They are free of judgment, and require only that you be present in the moment.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) has been a foundational support for alcohol recovery since 1935. Based on a 12-step framework that emphasizes honesty, community, and spiritual growth, AA provides members with a structured path to sobriety and a fellowship of individuals who understand the struggles of addiction.
At Recovery Connections SWVA, we offer regular AA meetings in our downtown facility, which is accessible to residents throughout the region. These meetings are open to individuals who have recently completed inpatient or outpatient treatment and are seeking ongoing peer support.
NA builds on the 12-step model to support individuals recovering from all types of drug addiction. Similar to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), NA is peer-led and emphasizes that individuals in recovery can find strength and hope in each other.
Our NA meetings are open to individuals at every stage of recovery, from those just starting their journey to those with years of sobriety who wish to give back to the community that supported them.
You are Welcome Here
If you’ve never attended a 12-step meeting before, it’s completely normal to feel uncertain about what to expect. Our meetings are informal, welcoming, and led by peers rather than clinicians. You are never required to speak, share, or disclose anything you’re not comfortable with. You can simply come, listen, and start to feel less alone.
Our downtown location in Southwest Virginia serves as a gathering hub for the recovery community. It’s a space where you can connect with others, find support between meetings, and access the many resources that Recovery Connections SWVA offers.
The resources you need
Alongside the meetings we hold in-house, Recovery Connections SWVA can assist you in finding Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings throughout the Southwest Virginia region.
